Thetis Comes to the Rescue, as Hat Head National Park Burns  is my response to the 2023 Hat Head National Park Fire.
Modern, Western humanity has forgotten its place in the world and how important the earth, water, animals and plants are to it’s survival.  The result being global warming and all the horrors that brings, including fire.
The Ancient Greeks worshipped the earth, water, animals, plants, and of course The Gods.
Thetis a Greek Goddess of water, a sea Nymph, and Creator of the Universe and is a very powerful force.
In this painting I have Thetis emerging from the water to fight the 2023 Hat Head fire.
Only 18km away I experienced in a small way the horror of this fire as burnt leaves rained down on us. I dread to think of the number of animals, plants and micro environments which have been lost
.

Hi, I have an established art practice and work from my Sydney Studio.

My muse is the Australian landscape; its plants, animals, and weather systems.

I create works using drawing, painting and printing techniques.

Browse my site to select an existing art work or commission me to do a specific work you desire.

In 2025 I will continue to create works reflecting my unique interpretation of the beauty and amazing variety of Australian plant and animal species.

Together I hope that we can each reduce our footprint on the earth and protect its wonderful natural abundance.
